Alter Enersun has obtained 160 million euros of financing from Caixabank, Santander and BBVA for the construction of eight photovoltaic plants in Huelva that total a power of 263 MW, being the largest project that has been promoted by the company to date. Specifically, Caixabank, BSCH and BBVA are the financial entities that have accompanied Alter Enersun practically from its foundation and are financing other company projects such as the photovoltaic plants of Jerez, Alconchel and Barcarrota in Badajoz.
This investment will be allocated to the Huelva LA LUZ project which is currently under construction; a set of 8 photovoltaic plants called LUZ I, II, III, IV, V, VI VII and VIII, which are located in Huelva, specifically in the La Carrascosa area.
The works are expected to be completed in April 2024 and the plants are scheduled to go into production a few months later, generating approximately 537 Gwh annually, which is equivalent to the energy consumed by 154.000 households.
In addition, Huelva La LUZ will create between 450 and 500 jobs during its construction and 20 direct and indirect employments per year, during the years it remains in operation. Likewise, with the generation of clean energy of this project, a total of 507.000 tons of CO2 will be avoided each year compared to conventional coal.
The CEO of Alter Enersun, José Luis Morlanes, has declared in this regard that «the Huelva La Luz project is a challenge for the company due to its size and technical difficulty. It is progressing according to the established schedule and will be the most efficient one of those we have built”. Finally, he wanted to thank for «the support received from Caixabank, BSCH and BBVA who are accompanying us in the largest project we have built”.
