The Spanish Constitutional Court opens the way to shared self-consumption

The Constitutional Court has admitted the claim of the Generalitat of Catalonia to allow collective self-consumption. The decision annuls the section of Royal Decree 900/2015 that prohibited “that generators can connect to the internal network of several consumers.”

In this way, by suspending this prohibition, the door opens to the implementation of common self-consumption facilities in urban developments or community buildings, also contributing to a shift towards a sustainable and independent energy model.
