Alter Enersun inaugurates the largest photovoltaic plant in Huelva

Inauguration of the ‘Huelva 2020’ Photovoltaic Plant on February 24, 2020

With an installed capacity of 49’9 MWp, Alter Enersun has inaugurated the largest photovoltaic plant in Huelva. Authorities such as the Delegate of the Andalusian Government for Huelva, Bella Verano, the Mayor of Gibraleón, Lourdes Martín, the President of the Port of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, as well as the President of CL Grupo and Alter Enersun, Ricardo Leal, and the CEO of Alter Enersun, José Luis Morlanes, attended the opening ceremony of the so-called ‘Huelva 2020’ plant, which took place on February 24.

Located in the area known as El Pintado, the photovoltaic plant spans a total of 85 hectares of land located in the municipality of Gibraleón.

It should be noted that, due to the 135,056 solar panels installed, an estimated annual production of 95 GWh will be generated, which will avoid the emission of about 90,000 tons of CO2 per year, also covering the energy needs of more than 27,000 homes.

This project of the company Alter Enersun is within the award of the Third Renewable Energy Auction that took place in Spain in 2017, complying with the terms and conditions required by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

Finally, it should be noted that for Alter Enersun this is the first large-scale project in Huelva and the first project within the Development Plan that the company wants to carry out in Huelva, which will reach 400MW in the future.
